Morgan Esperance is from the Beardy’s & Okemasis First Nation in Treaty 6 territory. She is 21-years-old completed her first year at the First Nations University of Canada in the Indian Communication Arts program. She hopes to get her degree at the School of Journalism and in International Studies. Esperance spent her early years in elementary school in Rosthern, Saskatchewan most of it with her grandmother. She attended high school in Saskatoon and finished her senior year at Stobart Community High School in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. The School of Journalism has always been a goal, so being accepted into the First Nations University of Canada after working for three years in Fort McMurray, Alberta washer first step to success. Shakespeare has been Esperance’s inspiration, and she believes his work is beautiful. Her dog Tiny is her motivation, giving him a good life is her number one goal. Morgan is always bubbly, shy, and happy. She’s slowly breaking out of her bubble to be a good journalist and freelancing for local newspapers gives her that boost. No matter what struggle comes her way she strives through it and aims for a positive lifestyle for her and her small dog.
